SUN ACRE

FARNHAM – WAVERLEY BC

Originally a poorly planned 1960s house, Sun Acre was transformed into a light-filled contemporary family home through a carefully considered extension and complete internal reconfiguration.

Designed to allow the family to remain in residence during construction, the new extension was built independently of the existing house. By lowering the floor level, the design creates generous ceiling heights and a seamless connection to the garden, filling the open-plan living spaces with natural light.

Natural materials, including polished concrete, bespoke plywood joinery and pre-weathered larch cladding, give the home warmth, simplicity and a timeless character.

Sun Acre received multiple honours at the 2023 Waverley Borough Council Design Awards, including the prestigious Overall Design Award.
