BADGERS
FARNHAM – WAVERLEY BC
Originally a 1960s bungalow with a clear separation between living and sleeping wings, Badgers has been reimagined as a contemporary family home while respecting the clarity of the original design.
A bold mono-pitched terracotta zinc roof unifies the new living spaces, while the former glazed link has been transformed into a planted courtyard at the heart of the home, bringing light, views and nature into every room. A new first floor creates a secluded principal suite with a roof terrace overlooking the surrounding treetops.
The original yellow stock brickwork is complemented by blue-grey engineering brick, burgundy aluminium glazing and a folded-seam zinc roof, creating a rich yet restrained material palette. Inside, terracotta quarry tiles, oak joinery and natural finishes provide warmth, texture and timeless character.
The result is a home that celebrates its modernist origins while introducing generous, light-filled spaces for contemporary family living.
