LANE TOP
WAVERLEY BC
AONB, Greenbelt, staged approvals
Designed by Kate for her own family, Lane Top is a contemporary woodland home that explores the relationship between modern architecture, natural materials and sustainable living.
Clad in charred timber and concrete brick slips, the house sits quietly within its woodland setting, while bold red steel detailing provides a distinctive thread throughout the architecture. Expansive glazing connects the interior with the surrounding landscape, creating light-filled spaces that feel immersed in nature.
Sustainability is integral to the design. A hybrid SIPs and masonry structure, air source heat pump, wet underfloor heating, integrated solar panels, MVHR and wildflower roofs combine to create a low-energy home that is both comfortable and efficient.
Designed as a home first and foremost, Lane Top reflects Kate's own approach to architecture, creating thoughtful, contemporary homes that combine enduring design, environmental responsibility and a strong connection to place.
